Star Wars Slave Girl
Giselle and I went out to LA this weekend to attend my cousin Louella's wedding in Cerritos, and coincidentally it was also the weekend of the 30th Anniversary Star Wars Celebration that was going on at the LA Convention Center. G and I are huge fans but we didn't go because it was $45 just to get in to see vendors selling Star Wars stuff and not much else (plus you had to pay extra to see the Carrie Fisher!) Our friend Cathy went in our stead.
We opted to catch up on our movies, seeing Shrek 3 (tired and predictable) and Pirates: At Worlds End (fun end to the 2nd film but not as good as the first).

CGI
This year's Tribeca Film Festival felt like just another big publicity stunt for Spider-Man. I guess that's good use of timing from a marketing standpoint. Sure, Spider-Man is at its heart a NY character but it is a Big Summer Blockbuster and that really makes the Tribeca Film Festival loose a lot of cred.
Giselle and I got too busy with work that we never even got to see any of the film festival movies this year. Our friends asked us over dinner recently, what was the last movie we saw and we both really had to think about it. It was 'The Good Shepherd' when we were in S.F. It seems like the only time G and I have time to see a movie is when we're out on vacation. How lame.
