Erin go bragh

Otherwise known as Ireland Forever. To celebrate St. Patrick's Day, I'm sending this drinking themed AIA.

Actually the drunk theme started last night, when Giselle and I went to go see the Pogues concert (a reunion of the original lineup). Their first US tour since 1989. Shane MacGowan was in all his legendary drunken, form. Shane was utterly incoherent, barely able to keep up with the rest of band, skipping whole lines of lyrics as he staggered through the songs. It was comical, sad, and awe inspiring at the same time (a lot like much of Irish history if I can make an analogy.)

I look forward to singing more Irish drinking songs tonight. Happy St. Patrick's Day! Don't forget to wear your green.

By the way, if you want to hear what all that fuss was about with that radio station, here it is that amazingly innocuous hangover spot.

Post Oscars

We saw the Oscar's with Jon Stewart this weekend and thought he did a great job despite the fact that they still have those long, absurd, and ridiculous musical numbers. I don't think they'll ask him back though because he's funniest when he's ridiculing Hollywood's pomposity. What I found telling were the scripted pleas for people to go back and watch movies in movie theaters.

Hmmm. So we should go watch movies like: The Shaggy Dog [remake], The Pink Panther [remake], The Hills Have Eyes [remake], Underworld Evolution [sequel], Aquamarine [remake...wasn't this called 'Splash?'], Ultraviolet [remake...well kind of deja vu 'Kill Bill' meets 'Aeon Flux'], Firewall [this looks like every other Harrison Ford movie].
