Pope's Email

With April showers, come April flowers and man, are my allergies are kicking my ass now.
It's making my training rides around the park for the Diabetes ride a lot harder.

I've met my fundraising goal but G and the rest of our team haven't, so if you haven't already, please sponsor us through these links:

Pope 50 Cent

The weather has been so gorgeous, it almost felt like Summer. Of course I never got a chance to enjoy most of it because I've been home getting over a cold the last couple of days. Today was the first day I felt back to normal. Well I'm feeling better now. But it does mean I've been watching a lot of daytime TV.

It's funny to see some pundit or activist on the news saying they're surprised and/or disappointed that they picked a 'Conservative' Pope. Hello? That's like saying you're surprised Dick Cheney picked Halliburton rebuild Iraq's oilfields or that your surprised the Democrats picked Dean to head the DNC.

Britney Pregnant

It's interesting what makes front page headline in different parts of the world.

Quite a change from when were living in Hawaii, where the front page news usually was some car accident on the H1 freeway or another city official indicted on kickbacks.

And for those of you who never saw American Pie or don't know a m.i.l.f. is, here is the standard definition:

Red Hook Ho

I can't believe it actually got up to 70ยบ today. It's hard to believe that a month ago it snowed.

Our friends Ed and Monica have just bought a townhouse in Red Hook and we rode with them as we explored their new neighborhood. Red Hook was for many, many years, a dilapidated, dockyard area in Brooklyn. Now with the real estate mania, even such out of the way parts of the city have become desirable. Though far from 'gentrified', never the less, we couldn't believe we saw a sign reading, "Coming Soon: Starbucks".

I've been dropping my book out around town. I figure if we ever want to own an apartment in the city, we're going to need to make some serious cheddar.
