EcoVillage

G and I are in the middle of buying a co-op apartment near downtown Brooklyn. For those of you who don't know, when you buy a co-op you have to be approved by the board-of-directors of the apartment building. We had our interview with them tonight.

It went well but we won't get approval until the full board meets and votes sometime next month. Sheesh this is taking a while, which is why most co-ops are cheaper than condo's because it's a pain in the butt to buy or sell one. With the temperatures in the high 90's, I'm not looking forward to moving sometime in late August.

Why Disney HK?

Giselle and I just got back from a long weekend in the Bahamas. Her sister Ro was visiting us last week from San Francisco and she joined us there. It was pretty hot, but it's just as hot here in NY now.

Aside from the heat, the weather was great. Fortunately the hurricane was well south and west of us (good thing we didn't go to Cozumel this trip.) I did go diving but unfortunately my digital camera got ruined when its underwater housing developed a small crack and allowed water in, flooding the camera. I'm so bummed.

Another bummer is that Jimmy Doohan, Star Trek's beloved chief Engineer 'Scotty'' who passed away yesterday.

"1 to beam up, Enterprise!"

Time for Popsicles

It's been a typical warm and muggy summer. Which got me thinking about frozen treats. Some of you may remember these cartoons that would come on Saturday mornings in the late 70's and 80's. There was another one where Time For Timer showed kids how to make 'Wagon Wheels' out of Ritz Crackers and cheese. At least those worked.

Giselle's sister is in town and we're all going to the Bahamas for a long weekend, starting Friday. As long as the weather allows (baring any hurricanes) I'll be doing some diving and another shark dive. I'll send more video footage of that when I get back (if I get back ALIVE!....booohahahahah!)

Lisa's Interview

It's always hard for me to try to write up an email, when there's news of tragedy. First of all, let me voice my condolences and support to the families of the victims in London.

What a terrible, despicable act. But the terrorist extremist don't know the resilience of Londoners. Hitler's bombs couldn't break their resolve. Nor the IRA's.

In the words of the wise Isaac Asimov, "Violence is the last refuge of the incompetent."

P.S. If you want to do something to help the people of London, go visit London this year. Don't let them scare you away from one of the greatest cities in the world.
